Children in Need Ramble
We are keen to resurrect our Children in Need Ramble that we have done for a few years before Covid, walking between The Meridian Hall, East Court and the Village Hall in Crawley Down, to raise money for Children in Need. This year the date will be Saturday 9th October.
We will meet at 9.00 am in the courtyard outside the Meridian Hall. We will walk down through East Court and through Mount Noddy cemetery and gardens to the station and then along the Worth Way to Crawley Down, through the village to the Village Hall. It is about 4 miles. It takes us about 1 1/2 hours walking briskly, but there is no hurry! At the Village Hall there will be tea and coffee and cake!
You may leave your cars at either end or at the Haven Centre Crawley Down. At the Village Hall there is room for a few cars outside and there is street parking in the lay-byes or Sandy Lane. At East Court, the Town Council told me that there is a wedding in the Meridian that day so the car park at the top may be busy, but there is another car park down the road past the ambulance station at East Court. On a Saturday the 281 and 291 buses run regularly from The Old Post Office,Turners Hill Road back to East Grinstead.
Friends and family are also welcome. If you would like to take part please let us know by e-mail or on Thursday at our classes. If you don’t want to walk that far and would like to join us at the village hall that is fine too, but I would like to know numbers for catering purposes.
Finally Children in Need - you can get sponsorship or we will have a collecting tin for donations at the Village Hall on Saturday 9th and for the next few weeks at our dancing classes or you could put your donation through our door.
Do hope you can join us. Fingers crossed for fine weather!
